Heads we lose tails they win.

Orwell described fascism and communism as two sides of the same totalitarian coin. Big government Socialism is the breeding ground for both.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!

DANG! James Lovelock the fellow who penned the 'Gaia hypothesis' and founding Green meanie has recanted!
I am an environmentalist and founder member of the Greens but I bow my head in shame at the thought that our original good intentions should have been so misunderstood and misapplied. We never intended a fundamentalist Green movement that rejected all energy sources other than renewable, nor did we expect the Greens to cast aside our priceless ecological heritage because of their failure to understand that the needs of the Earth are not separable from human needs. We need take care that the spinning windmills do not become like the statues on Easter Island, monuments of a failed civilisation.

Brace yourselves for the attacks on him as having lost his mind, being a quisling, a burnt out wreck of his former self etc, etc. The hardcore totalitarians behind the AGW scare are not going to allow anyone to derail the apocalyptic money train, nooooo way jose...all that power, prestige and filthy lucre to boot.

A man of conviction

I do so enjoy Barnaby Joyce who, even with his all to frequent foot-in-mouth disease, is still able to communicate truth like very few other politicians.

He is one of the few not scared to be a straight shooter! (All the mixed metaphors!!!)
His take on the incompetence of this current government and its satellite administrations is perspicacious. This small excerpt is a case in point.
There is nothing quite as frustrating as confronting the same problem over and over again without a plan that, if it cannot remove the concern, alleviates the problem. A brilliant metaphor for this ineptness at the expense of reality was delivered by the National Parks and Wildlife Service at a bushfire at Gwabegar, near Coonabarabran in NSW. A fire started in a national park from a lightning strike. The local bushfire brigades with the aid of a bulldozer put the fire out and the National Parks officers were nowhere in sight.

The next day, however, the National Parks officers turned up and rather than a thank you, complained bitterly about the damage of the track the bulldozer made, demanding that it “be regenerated to its native state”. Maybe if the locals had let the forest burn out, National Parks would have been happier. It was not rainforest it was part of tens of thousands of acres that would generally be known as the Pilliga Scrub. Did the National Parks officer have even the slightest idea how incongruous his attitude was to the disastrous problem that was imminent if the fire got out of control?

I look forward to his soon to be elevation into a position of political power. I only hope that his abilities are not curtailed by the bureaucrats that stay irrespective of the ruling elite.

Ho hum!

Oh the blatant hypocrisy of the minority stand-over coercives. The truly astounding/amusing/tragic reality is that these same fools are usually amongst the first to go after the 'revolution' happens, that is if history is any indication and I think it is, otherwise why would neophyte-totalitarian governments seek to revise history?
Our Brightest Minds
More psychodrama on campus:
Only hours after students installed a “Free Speech Wall” at Carleton University to prove that campus free speech was alive and well, it was torn down by an activist who claimed the wall was an “act of violence” against the gay community. “What we wanted to promote was competition of ideas, rather than ‘if I disagree with you I’ve got to censor you,’” said Ian CoKehyeng, founder of Carleton Students for Liberty, the creators of the wall. Installed on Monday in the Unicentre Galleria, one of campus’ most high-traffic areas, the wall was really more of a 1.2 x 1.8 metre wooden plank wrapped in paper and equipped with felt markers. By Tuesday morning the wall was gone, destroyed in an act of “forceful resistance” by seventh-year human rights student Arun Smith.
Yes, I know. Forceful resistance. Against free speech. By a human rights student.
A human rights student who last year promised to ensure “every voice is empowered and every student’s voice is heard.”
Well, maybe not every voice. It seems there’ll be some pre-emptive and unilateral vetting.
But wait, there’s more.
“In organising the ‘free speech wall,’ the Students for Liberty have forgotten that liberty requires liberation, and this liberation is prevented by providing space … for the expression of hate,” wrote Smith in a 600-word Facebook post in which he identified himself as an anti-homophobia campaigner. Calling the area around the wall a “war zone,” he intimated that it was “but another in a series of acts of violence” against gay rights. In a Tuesday afternoon Twitter exchange with a CBC reporter, Mr Smith dubbed free speech an “illusory concept” and declared that “not every opinion is valid, nor deserving of expression.”
The punchline cometh.
In truth, the wall’s only overt references to sexual orientation were pro-gay, such as “QUEERS ARE AWESOME,” “Gay is OK” and “I [Heart] Queers.” The only comment that verged into anti-gay territory was a scrawl reading “traditional marriage is awesome.”
Some kinds of stupid have to be educated into the kids.

Its a familiar refrain; "we want all people to have the freedom to say anything they want unless what they want to say disagrees with what we want them to say, because then they are not merely wrong, they are dangerous, subversive, haters, racists, homophobic misogynists."

Freak out!

Ditto Australia, couldn't have said it better myself:
From the economy to crime prevention to education to foreign relations, America's policies today are based on the Marxist premise that crime results from poverty, economic crisis results from greed, injustice results from capitalist exploitation, corruption results from the free markets, and militant Islamism results from Western colonialism. Therefore, peace and harmony can only be achieved through equal redistribution of wealth, appeasement, and a global effort to reshape human nature through politically correct, collectivist indoctrination.
Predictably, a faulty premise leads to a faulty outcome: the economy is stumbling, education is failing, corruption is spreading, crime is rising, and militant Islamism is gaining more ground. Instead of creating the New Man, the suppression and demonization of natural human traits breeds moral and intellectual freaks. Where normalcy is outlawed, abnormalities flourish.

Political adolescents

An interesting window into the Labor party and its self-denial.
Contrast this with what the Labor Party is actively trying to do. It seeks to restrict what we say to what the ruling class wants to hear; to restrict what we eat and drink to what the ruling class thinks is good for us; to tell us how much energy we should consume; to define "offensive" in terms that privilege one group over another; to tell our shopkeepers whom they can hire and how they can manage; to reduce the private sphere to little more than the bedroom; to skew our tribunals by appointing those who are part of its ruling class; to tell us that belief in our culture and history is unacceptable; to tell people what their religious conventions should be; to use government to deliver services as a matter of ideology, not practicality.
And, in the pattern of ruling classes everywhere, to hand out legal, financial or social privileges to sectional interests.
Mr Leigh claims Labor is the party of egalitarianism. If it were once, it is no more. That much is clear to this former ALP member. It is now the party of a new ruling class, all about connections and sectional privilege, populated by lifelong insiders with no connection to the people who sustain their lifestyles.

Many still believe that the Labor party cares about the man-in-the-street. They couldn't be more mistaken. Labor now cares about power and wealth (in its own back pocket). Labor cares about stand-over tactics and perverting justice to benefit its own chosen few.  Labor cares about the environment because the Greens are its political master. Labor does nothing that does not benefit labor.
Labor sounds like a typical teenager. Who wants a teenager running a country.

Some more equal than others

The following article is a quasi-disturbing one in that, control of vested interests by the political and banking oligarchy's appears to be quite impervious to reason.
It appears therefore that the only real means of extricating ourselves from the hemorrhaging effects of extreme spending and concomitant profit making amongst the 'elect few' is to either vote them out or if that is not possible to?????????

A ray of Boris

If I might be allowed to paraphrase a famous aphorism;
Might this be not the end, nor the end of the beginning but rather the beginning of the end of this obscene experiment in social engineering called 'anthropogenic global warming'?
To have a well known and important political figure such as Boris Johnson discovering the moral fortitude to speak out against the stand-over merchants of AGW is to engender some hope that the end-is-indeed-nigh but not as 'they' would have us believe.

While I most definitely do not agree with his 'sun-god' theory (a PoMo Akhenaton?) I find his observational analysis intriguing. Read the whole article @

Objective,smobjective!

So much for the so-called 'objectivity' in science:

Misconduct accounts for the majority of retracted scientific publications

Ferric C. Fang R. Grant Steen and Arturo Casadevall
PNAS PNAS 2012 109 (42) 16751-16752; doi:10.1073/iti4212109

Abstract

A detailed review of all 2,047 biomedical and life-science research articles indexed by PubMed as retracted on May 3, 2012 revealed that only 21.3% of retractions were attributable to error. In contrast, 67.4% of retractions were attributable to misconduct, including fraud or suspected fraud (43.4%), duplicate publication (14.2%), and plagiarism (9.8%). Incomplete, uninformative or misleading retraction announcements have led to a previous underestimation of the role of fraud in the ongoing retraction epidemic. The percentage of scientific articles retracted because of fraud has increased ∼10-fold since 1975. Retractions exhibit distinctive temporal and geographic patterns that may reveal underlying causes.
Plus this published correction.
RetractionWatch points out that this could be the tip of the iceberg

Post Modernism has almost completely destroyed the notion of true truth. The inevitable result of such a predicament usually means that the only method of winning an argument rests finally upon who is physically stronger; ergo tribalism, ergo tribal warfare, ergo our society wandering rather rapidly down the path of Somalia, Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Nigeria, Rwanda etc etc.

Welcome to our brave new world.

Chaos knocking on the door

Do we even begin to hear the whisper of an apology for such a disastrous 'prophecy':

In 2000, scientists at perhaps the world’s centre of global warming alarmism issued this prediction:
According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become “a very rare and exciting event”.
Children just aren’t going to know what snow is,” he said.
It’s now 2013 - which surely must now qualify as “within a few years”.
Russia:
On Friday, Moscow was on a verge of traffic collapse as more than 10 inches of snow fell on the city, which is more than half of January’s average… In the Altai Republic in Western Siberia, 12 Russian settlements were isolated because of the snowstorm…
In the end of 2012, Russia saw extreme winter not witnessed since 1938. The coldest-ever December in Russia led to the evacuation of hundreds of people in Siberia, where temperatures fell below -50 degrees Celsius; Moscow also saw its coldest night ever for the seaso
Britain:

Snow is expected to blanket the UK for the next week, with no end to the freezing conditions in sight.
Europe:

Snowfalls across western Europe have disrupted travel plans, with cancellations and closures at some major airports.

No way!

This is but one arm of the political campaign intended to divert untold  billions of dollars into the coffers of  'vested interests', whose actual concerns are far more cynical than merely 'saving the world'. These interests are the political muscle behind the one-world, UN cabal whose stated goal is a single worldwide government. I am no longer self-policing myself with respect to 'conspiracy theories'  because it has become abundantly clear that such things actually do exist. The only task now is to uncover the real from the counterfeit.
“Today’s debate about global warming is essentially a debate about freedom. The environmentalists would like to mastermind each and every possible (and impossible) aspect of our lives.” Vaclav Klaus
How can 'ordinary' people be so ignorant when the evidences for this illusory campaign are so thin whereas the evidence of mendacity on the part of scientists, media and politicians so widespread?

Because we prefer to keep our opinions to ourselves for fear of becoming a target of the radical left-wing/PC/gaystapo/feminazi fanatics?

Unfortunately and understandably true! These tiny but radical groups have totally dominated political discourse and woe betide any 'ordinary' voice who dares to oppose them; especially, Gaia forbid, middle-aged, heterosexual, family men (Imperialistic homophobes with patriachal tendencies!!!!!).

Come on folks, let us vote out the mendacious, manipulative and incompetent fools who have provided a platform for such stand-over tacticians before they change the political landscape so irretrievably that we sink to the level of some third-world oligarchy and the tribal chaos we see every night on TV becomes our own backyard.

IDEAS HAVE CONSEQUENCES ...and Burke's aphorism has never been more true than it is today:
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

if it ain't broke....

To all those would-be-republican Aussies I would like to pass on this snippet of financial information.
In his recent book "Presidential Perks Gone Royal," Robert Keith Gray, a former Eisenhower staffer, revealed that last year the U.S. presidency cost American taxpayers $1.4 billion. Over the same period, the entire Royal Family cost British taxpayers about $57 million. There's nothing "royal" about the current level of "presidential perks": the Obama family costs taxpayers more than every European royal house put together.

Of course you will have to read the book to confirm that this is the truth, but doing so might impact your understanding of the 'egalitarian' values that a republic allegedly bestows upon its  citizens.
The fish rots from the head down, and so do republics. A $1.4-billion president has a defense secretary with a private plane to fly him home every weekend, and a chair of the "White House Council on Women and Girls" with her own Secret Service detail, and all of them ever more detached from the rhythms of American life. In the wake of the Cartagena hooker scandal, the Secret Service with predictable obtuseness imposed a new rule prohibiting agents from having "foreign nationals" in their rooms. The salient fact surely wasn't that they were "foreign" but that they were hookers. Yet now, at the luxury Moana Surfrider resort, Obama staffers passing through the lobby and bumping into minor princesses and arch-duchesses staying in the cheap rooms on the lower floors won't even be able to ask them up to their federally mandated ocean-view suites for tips on deficit reduction. In the Brokest Nation in History, it would be unreasonable to expect the president to pretend to have a regular all-American family Christmas for less than five million bucks.
As Ben Franklin famously said: "A republic, if you can keep it in the style to which it's become accustomed.

History appears to indicate that in every society since history was recorded, some people are always more equal than others. Of course PoMo 'history professors' (revisionists) these days prefer to gloss over fact in favour of opinion so it is probably better to confine your research material to pre-1980's.

Orwell covers the reality of unequal 'equality' marvellously in his animal Farm...read it as well before you vote to eradicate a system (monarchy) which has served us well for hundreds of years and is not yet 'broke'.

Metanoia

It is hard to fathom but the new America is at war with the orthodox Christian faith. If you do not believe me then read these two articles to gain a small understanding about how that war is being transacted.

http://www.billmuehlenberg.com/2013/01/10/the-war-against-faith-and-family-continues-unabated/

 http://www.billmuehlenberg.com/2013/01/11/big-brother-in-action/

We should consider that these attacks seem reminiscent of the beginnings of the pogroms against the Jews in Nazi Germany. If you think I am being dramatic about this then read your history (not the revisionist stuff , research mainly before 1980 for a more objective perspective) and you will find that the similarities abound.

Some say that the Church needs persecution in order to become its 'true self', unfortunately I do not see a biblical mandate for that. What I do see is a biblical instruction to pray for a society where we can live in peace and go about the business of the Kingdom; 1 Timothy 2:2.

I believe that those who voted for the Obama administration in America were wrong.

We are all entitled to our own opinions, but we are not entitled to our own facts...unless of course you are a PoMo in which case Nietzsche rather than Jesus becomes your guiding light.

Ideas have consequences

"Tasmania is a petri dish, demonstrating the consequences of green ideology run rampant. No jobs, the forestry industry on its knees, and bushfires feasting on fuel built up over two mild fire seasons. Yet, instead of facing up to their errors, the Greens conveniently blame climate change. They pretend imposing a carbon tax or destroying the coal industry will prevent bushfires, while reducing the actual fuel which powers the flames is “futile”.  (Miranda Devine)

Corporatists not capitalists

I found this gem of an explanation of contemporary elites in the comments section of a popular blog. The commentators nom de plume was Chris Z.
A common misconception is that the wealthy are capitalists. Most of the biggest enemies of laissez-faire capitalism (ie. the real kind) are in fact people who are only called capitalists. The reason for this should be pretty obvious - people who have amassed great wealth and power (often with the help of the government) seek to keep competitors at bay. The best way to do this is to lobby the government for subsidies and protection from competition. Paradoxically, a regulation that seems to hurt big business often has the opposite effect, e.g. restricting new coal mines or oil refineries makes existing ones worth more, thus enriching their owners, and prevents new competitors from entering the market. Gore became fabulously wealthy by exploiting the global warming panic (which he whipped up into hysteria), and cashing in on the massive subsidies paid by the government, as well as regulations that forced people to buy ‘carbon offsets’.
These people aren’t capitalists as the word used to be understood, they are corporatists who wouldn’t stay wealthy for long in a real free market. I don’t think terms like left wing and right wing are particularly helpful, but because these so-called capitalists are the biggest supporters and the biggest beneficiaries of big government, I would say they are left wing.

Oh well said Chris Z...Corporatists!
Thus falls the woollen veil that has been so skillfully pulled over the eyes of those who do not want to see...here I speak of the main-stream-media who use these wealthy, big government Trojan horses to attack 'capitalism' and keep the unreflective men-in-the-street from understanding that true free market economics impedes big government totalitarian rule.
When we allow big government to rule we allow an elite few inner urban red/green extremists to guide our every move and thought.
Welcome to the future Big Brother and I don't mean the TV show. We are not far away now.

Corrupt science

Science as much as anything else has suffered under the post-modern paradigm of relativity.

When truth is something someone decides for themselves then it is no longer truth because it is not fact based. We are all entitled to our opinions but we are not entitled to our own 'facts'. When truth in science is no longer fact based then science just becomes someones opinion and is easily corrupted into being another way of falsifying data in order to push an agenda.

Witness the man made corruptions of 'climate science' and the billions misspent in 'stopping' it.
This small extract from Jo Nova encapsulates the current dilemma:
“Expert” science panels should only ever be judged by their science not their politics. A successful panel can judge theories by objective criteria: do they predict the world around us, are they strictly logical, and do they have observational evidence (data) to back them up? With so many incompetent professors and meaningless Nobel Prizes, qualifications don’t guarantee ability anymore. The idea that we could ask “experts” how they vote or tally up their donations to political parties is profoundly unscientific. Nature has lost the plot.
If Daniel Sarewitz wants people to perceive scientists as rising above politics, I hate to say the bleeding obvious, but scientists need to actually rise above politics. Scientists need to stop being activists and start holding logic and evidence above all else, and speak cautiously about their ability to predict the world until they can demonstrate their ability to do it.
What we need are not Democrat-scientists or Republican-scientists, we need scientist scientists.
When some scientists are caught hiding declines, honest upstanding scientists need to denounce them. When good scientists don’t speak up about the bad ones, is it any wonder the public assumes that all of science is as corrupted, sick and self serving as every other human institution?
In climate science the self-correcting mechanism of reality takes an age to winnow the trash from the treasure. Billions can be wasted in the meantime. Compare that to the wizards of Silicon Valley whose products are tested day after day. Who cares about the political inclinations of those technologists? It works, or it doesn’t.
When scientists predict that there will be no more snow, and it snows, there ought to be a price. When a scientist can tell us the rains won’t fill the dams and that our cities need expensive desal plants, and he’s proven wrong yet suffers no loss of reputation or stature (or funds), what does it mean to be a scientist? Nothing. The people trashing the reputation of all scientists are the ones who stay silent while charlatans steal the brand-name and good will of science, and get away with profoundly unscientific behavior.

I might not agree with everythng she says, but when it comes to scientists acting like scientists I say...go girl!

Auchtung! Environazis.

I believe that the stand-over tactics of the (now) many environmental groups are hurting ordinary Australians like never before. The fact that we are paying so much for energy and water is directly attributable to these environazis having 'greenmailed' their way into government and the hearts and minds of weak but influential people.

The attached article illustrates the totalitarian philosophy behind these activists and should warn all Australians to wake up before their hold is to strong around the neck of this countries economy.
