HISTORY AND MOOPOO

What is absolutely terrifying to me is that tools like this one (Monbiot) actually believe the bovine faeces that they espouse.

These are the ones who believe in the new neo-feudalist future the PoMo, faux Marxists preach. These are the ones who believe in the evolutionary differences between the 'aristocrats' and the 'peasants' and who believe that the world would be a better, happier place if we all just accepted our place in the global society and let the 'ruling class' rule:
"...consider the Utopian ruminations of Guardian columnist George Monbiot, whose urge to romanticise The Other - especially if The Other is brown and poor, and unable to challenge his bizarre worldview - is a thing to behold:
It is impossible not to notice that, in some of the poorest parts of the world, most people, most of the time, appear to be happier than we are. In southern Ethiopia, for example, the poorest half of the poorest nation on earth, the streets and fields crackle with laughter. In homes constructed from packing cases and palm leaves, people engage more freely, smile more often, express more affection than we do behind our double glazing, surrounded by remote controls.
That’s right. Forget about sanitation and drudgery, and the limited options in life. Think instead of how happy these Ethiopian peasants are, these beings we should emulate, with their quaint little shelters made of leaves and packing cases. It’s just so adorable. And not a single remote control to harsh the egalitarian buzz. Like his Guardian colleague Oliver James - another anhedonic hypocrite stressed by the contradictions of being a well-heeled middle-class lefty – Mr Monbiot wants us to believe that “wealth causes misery.” Yes, wealth is bad for “us” – by which of course he means bad for you."
These are the folk who occupy the high peaks of the political, academic, media, police and educational class:
The current Australian Liberal Party’s inability to form a unified, while still-broad church is instructive. When Yassmin Abdel-Mageid slags the Anzacs, appalling anyone with a streak of decency, and is allowed by Foreign Minister Julie Bishop to keep her nice little sinecure as the token tame Muslim at Foreign Affairs, you know your father’s Liberal Party is dead, buried and cremated.
The Pynes, the Brandises, the Turnbulls, and so on, stick their elitist noses in the air and avoid even contemplating those of us who simply want jobs, decent organisations to work for, family, shared values, stable virtues. At a risk of offending Quadrant Online’s policy against salty language, the yen is for no-bullshit normalcy – a life in a community, in other words, that somewhat resembles the happy times we grew up in and still remember fondly. [Paul Collits]
We are living with the consequences of this 'vision' in South Australia; highest unemployment in Australia, lowest jobs growth, worst medical and family health results, worst schooling results, highest electricity prices in a State with the greatest share of natural resources etc, etc.Victoria is still catching up regarding time spent ruling, but they are surpassing us in imbecilic, Utopian ideals.

The Victorian state spent more than a billion dollars paying NOT TO BUILD THE FREEWAY.
They spent a billion or more on a water purification pant they have never used (ditto SA), while water falls from the sky in such quantities that is causes destructive floods all over the state.
The jolly Green fanatics make sure no one burns off the undergrowth between the seasons and as a consequence they have one of the deadliest fires in their history and who do they blame? Why global warming of course.

Its like a bad movie but its real. And these 'benefits' are still in their infancy. Just watch and wait for the full impact of the socialist, Utopian dream to unfold in its entirety upon the average Victorian. The switching on the air-conditioning will be the least of your worries.

Unfortunately for our children, by the time the deliberately educationally bereft 'normal's' catch up to the real plan, it will be too late to do anything about it.

But looking on the bright side, its fools like this that will be the first to go in the new 'order'; history is proof of that.

A REVOLUTION MEANS TO RETURN TO THE SAME SPOT

A sobering thought has just occurred to me whilst relaxing on my comfortable reclining chair.

As any student of history (no matter how superficially one might have studied history) will observe; the natural state of humanity has always been chaos. The reasons for this differ depending on your worldview and cultural bias.

I myself have held a few different worldviews over a reasonably long life but have not been able to arrive at a better or more rational perspective than the one offered by the Bible.

That is; that mankind is corrupted from birth and all of his/her twistings and turnings are at their very root sinful. Not a word that sits well with the consciences(seared?) of today's generation.
In fact the use of the word these days opens one up to accusations of, well, sinfulness!

Anyhoo....back to my musings from the reclining chair.

What we see from any study of history, no matter how cursory, is humanity in a state of chaos...and yet the Western cultures have manged to achieve a modicum of equilibrium in spite of history proving otherwise. The question remains How?

Well IMHO I believe that it has been the cumulative accretion of the Judaeo-Christian worldview as it managed to gain superiority through an application of what works over what fails during the past 2 millennia.

And it is this worldview that has been systematically dismantled and is under constant attack by the Utopianists of today.

Looking forward to the natural state of mankind being fully restored[sarc].

IPSO FACTO IT'S MADNESS

The superficial acceptance and advocacy of the main-stream-media and wealthy elites towards the 'Antifa' radicals is both breathtaking and scary. These misguided idiots think that the ever increasing acts of vandalism by these low life scum are somehow 'ethical':
“People sometimes do things that are illegal, but I think they’re ethical,” Ben said. “I’m happy to be in this mass that creates anonymity for those people, even if they’re doing things I’m not willing to do.” [https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/29/style/black-bloc-fashion.html
This is the worldview of those who regarded Charles Manson as a 'cool dude' and who wear images of Che Guevara and Mao Tse Tung on their T-shirts. All they are accomplishing is an affirmation of the adage that ignorance is difficult to disguise.

The violence and the sheer anarchy of this movement of ingenue terrorists is swept aside because they are 'fashionable'. Just as the Black Panthers during the 60's were the fashionable accessory of any chic party, so these days the garb of the Antifa thugs is de rigueur apparel for the 'woke' fashionista of today's 'radical chic':
"There is solid beauty advice as well: “A layer of glitter or highlighter dusted over your cheeks can serve double duty, showing off your glorious bone structure while simultaneously providing a helpful way to determine which side of your bandanna was in contact with your face and which side is saturated in tear gas particulate.” (Also, jean shorts are probably not ideal.)
There is more practical advice on how to dress for a riot. One should decide on organic or synthetic gloves before participating in an action: Wool and cotton may allow chemical contaminants, like pepper spray, to absorb, while nylon can melt if you grab something hot, which historically has included some kinds of tear-gas canisters but can include various things on fire. [ibid]
The psychological upheavals that have infested the minds of academia and the neo-feudalist elite, has found fertile soil in these sad sacks. They truly believe that this 'new American revolution' is the great equaliser and a harbinger of the Socialist Utopia:
“It was like a goth party,” Min said. “There were queer people, black people, white people, Asian people, and, because, we were all wearing black, there was no way to even think about the things that are often barriers to our connection.” Min said this anonymity, where she was unable to identify even people around her, had a way of purifying her actions. “There’s a difference between me helping you because I know you and care about you, and me helping you because I want you to be helped,” she said.
Min is an artist. For her, this is one of the most unappreciated aspects of black bloc as a style. It’s tactical, and practical, and it’s also an art form with the effect of building solidarity long after the boots go into the closet. The experience of being enveloped in anonymity helps retain the movement’s ideology, after the balaclavas get folded up and stacked in the drawer."[ibid]
The ignorance embodied by this superficial radicalism boggles the mind.
Do they truly believe that they can cut off the branch on which they are sitting and not suffer a fall?
Do they truly believe that they can destroy the very foundations of their freedoms and not suffer any consequences?

I think they do. I think they have been 'educated' to believe that science is a patriarchal tool, that language and biology is all a social construct and that the police/justice systems and in particular white skinned individuals are all tools of the oppressive colonist and therefore anything that they might have achieved in the past is irrelevant.

I think many actually do believe that if only they can tear down the religion of the oppressor (Christianity), that if they can destroy the economy of the oppressor (capitalism) then all will be well. They believe that tribalism is the multi-cultural way to create harmony and that they can, by force of violence usher in a brave new Utopia of equality of outcomes for everybody. These are the lies that have been sold to the vast majority of young people in the West. I think that they truly believe that somehow, the luxury, the freedoms, the safety and the medical benefits that we take for granted somehow just 'evolved' over time.

If only they had been taught history at school, they would know how hard won the developments of the West have been. That advancement comes not through the barrel of a gun or the edge of a sword but by standing on the shoulders of giants in the fields of; science, medicine, politics and economics. They would have an understanding that nothing good comes from violent insurrections and they would have learned about the bloody results of the socialist revolutions that came before.

Unfortunately it is a fact attested to by school results, university results, the exposure of school and University courses that fail to produce results (the TAFE debacle in South Australia is a current case in point), the everyday experiences of many colleagues, of my own forays into the world of education and the plain pig-ignorance out of the very mouths of these 'babes in the wood' gives credence to the claim that they have no idea whatsoever of the results of actual socialistic regimes.

And if they do by some miracle hear the truth of these great social disasters, their first response is that" those countries were not really adopting TRUE SOCIALIST PRINCIPLES. Of course such a response is extremely hubristic because it communicates that the person behind such a claim is superior to all of those who tried and failed.

Unfortunately such hubris has indeed been massaged into Western youth for more than three decades now. Its an ideology that says; everyone deserves to win and therefore everyone in the team, whether they lost or not, is given a trophy/medal/certificate. That there are no losers. This egregious untruth lies at the very heart of Socialist ideology and its name is; equality of outcome. It embodies an dogma that declares that everyone deserves the same result, not the same opportunity as embodied in the Western worldview (historically).

What happens when the results are not the same given that everybody has different talents, skills, motivations, degrees of commitment, desires etc? Well what happens is what we have witnessed in every country that has believed in this hogwash. The imposition of  mandated results. And where these results have been impossible to mandate, eradication soon follows. When the ruling oligarchy realises that the only way to bring about equality of outcome is to stamp out individuality thats when we see real barbarism at work. Thus the 20th century witnessed the greatest slaughter of human beings in the name of equality that history has ever seen.

And yet these ignoramuses think that if they were given the opportunity, it would be different.

What was that definition of madness? Doing the same thing, the same way, and expecting a different outcome every time.

EVOLUTION AT WOKE

The primordial soup out of which these 'Social Justice Worriers[sic]' and their slimy ilk crawled, becomes muddier and muddier:
As to what type of show is being staged, let’s look at the dynamics. Forty or so middle-class students, including beneficiaries of DePauw’s policy of racial favouritism in hiring and admissions, decry the “burden” of being brown-skinned at said university, while holding up signs that read, “DePauw = unsafe,” “Don’t kill me,” and “Our situation is intolerable.” If you dare to disagree with the protesters, denunciation seems inevitable, most likely involving accusations of “white privilege,” and possibly racism. If you sit quietly and try to ignore the protest, then, it turns out, you’re on “the side of the oppressor.” And if you signal your approval of the protest – say, by applauding it – then this too is offensive, an insult to the protesters’ heroic struggle.
Taken at face value, the “social justice” howler monkeys seem difficult to console. Even if you agree with them, they will complain about it. Apparently, those whose event was selfishly interrupted are expected to welcome the protesters’ disdain for everyone present. Specifically, by pretending to feel bad for an absurd made-up reason - i.e., by agreeing that the university is a dangerous and oppressive environment for brown-skinned devotees of “social justice.” Expressions of compliance are demanded, but may only take the form approved by the protesters. (No clapping is allowed, only standing “in solidarity,” for however long is necessary, while remaining mute.) Any other response – from applause to indifference – will be deemed a hostile act and mark you as an enemy. It therefore seems unlikely that such people could be kept happy for any length of time, even assuming one were sufficiently credulous to attempt it.
However, if you think of the above as a kind of bad-faith theatre, an exercise in in-group positioning, it becomes a little more comprehensible. The object, it seems, is to whine and scold, and to indulge in emotional browbeating, thereby asserting dominance over others. The more improbable the grievance, and the more numerous the hoops through which one has to jump, the sweeter the game is, for a certain kind of person. And as this theatre of victimhood is the basis of the protesters’ status and self-importance, and the thing that excuses all that lovely scolding, it must continue indefinitely. It is, therefore, pointless to engage with such people on their own terms, as if you could ever find some mutual accommodation short of perpetual deference and self-abasement, or as if you could change their minds, or make them less obnoxious.
The only question is which party is the more wretched and degenerate. The vain little scolds who claim to be oppressed at a university where tuition fees are a mere $50,000 a year, or the cowed and pretentious dupes who applaud their own scolding. [David Thompson]

SERFING THE NEO FEUDAL WAY

The following tax advice from Michael Barone illustrates how overt government control of the economy constricts economic growth by causing the tax payers to seek ways of avoiding paying taxes rather than looking at ways of growing their businesses. Its Human Nature to do so!:
"Currently, the top one percent of earners account for about 40 percent of federal income tax revenue; the next nine percent provide about 30 percent more. You could make the system more progressive with more progressive income tax rates or by raising the amount of income subject to the payroll tax, but at the risk of redirecting high earners' attention from productivity to tax avoidance. Such changes tend to reduce economic growth, just as tax cuts tend to increase it."
My family, small tax payers in the wider scheme of things are nevertheless looking at all sorts of legal ways to avoid paying tax. Instead of being open to paying taxes as we should be, we like many conservatives, are piqued at paying the lions share towards programs and systems that are undermining everything we believe in.

In fact the Socialists in charge of the circus; a.k.a. government, are usually more concerned with those who don't pay their way. Why? Because these folk are dependent on government largess and other 'freebies' so they keep voting the socialists back into power. The real tragedy of course is that these 'freebies' are not free at all and keep those who are gullible enough to believe in the system firmly entrapped within the system.

Does the ruling oligarchy care? Not at all...because most of those making the decisions on ideological grounds are buttressed against the negative results of their sociopolitical experiments. Most government bureaucrats enjoy safe sinecures and padded benefits, and as a result they do not have to worry about the real-world effects of their failures and those left to suffer are merely the peasants and serfs of the new, neo-feudalists.

A CONFESSING EXTREMIST

I suppose I have been called so any names ending with an ‘ist’ or ‘phobe’ attached to them that I have almost become immune to them, with an emphasis on ‘almost’.

In one country I was called an extreme left-winger, a communist, for agreeing with Martin Luther King Jnr that a man should be judged by the content of his character rather than the colour of his skin, whilst in another I am adjudged an extreme right-winger, a racist, for holding the same view. Context matters obviously.

What saddens me most of all is when a fellow Christian who disagrees with my position refers to me by one of these negative epithets. I am aware that many who call themselves Christian are in fact nothing of the sort, but also that many do disagree who are most definitely of the family.

I am quite open to being convinced about the error of my ways but nowadays most do not want to engage in the sort of evidence based or logical dialogue necessary to change one’s mind effectively; instead most resort to the easy option of dismissing the opponent as an ‘ist’ or a ‘phobe’ of one sort or another. This is called the straw man fallacy (look it up).

Australia’s Soviet Republic of Utopia, a.k.a. Victoria has just passed the euthanasia bill in its parliament, a sad but true event that merely stands as another signpost on that states decline into totalitarian rule. Pish you might cry, whose exaggerating now? What would you call a government that has ultimate control over if you are to be born (abortion) and now how and why you might die (euthanasia).

But it’s about “dying with dignity” some might cry. Others, who are big on the ‘human rights’ front say; “it’s about the right to choose your own time to pass through this mortal coil”. Still others cite ‘compassion’ in the same mode of conscience as they do for those who choose the aforementioned abortion route.

I like Colson’s illustration from his book My Final Word.
What struck me was that here was a Christian, one who appeared to be serious about her beliefs, advocating euthanasia for purely humane reasons. She was smiling the whole time, very gracious.
All I could think of was C S Lewis’s description of the barbarians in our midst not being the Goths and Vandals with their clubs climbing over the walls, but well-dressed people sitting in well-lighted rooms with clean fingernails, deciding what was best for people. This is what barbarism really is, inhumanity done in the name of humanity, killing people for their own good.
The crucial question is what happens in a society when the good people – and this woman on the plane was one of the good people – really do believe this. Their views become unshakeable; this is what these good people perceive to be the kindest thing they can do. Yet in the name of kindness they perform terrible inhumanity. How do you shake this out of them?
I came away from this chilling encounter gravely concerned because I realize that we are not up against people who decide it’s good to get rid of people for expedient reasons, or to cut down medical bills, or because they enjoy killing. In a way the Nazis were a lot easier to fight than the good people wanting to do ‘humane’ things.
This is a further indication of how the church fails in its mission when it doesn’t teach people the hard truths. This pleasant flight attendant, of all people, should have learned from her church what the truth is.  (pp. 42, 43)

IPSO FACTO

As a life-long believer in education I sadly have arrived at the conclusion that it would be best for the survival of Western culture to allow the University's to follow the path that they have set for themselves without hindrance or trying to save them from themselves as some conservatives  (including me) have been trying to do for too long:
American colleges no longer bother to even pretend that they’re teaching students how to think. Instead, their noble mission is making sure that every last trace of a dissident thought is mercilessly shotgunned out of their students’ brains before unleashing them into a world where they have trouble tying their own shoes without doubling their normal dose of antidepressants.
So let the colleges die. Let the teachers—almost to the last gender-fluid one of them an Armchair Marxist who fetishizes the “working class” from afar—learn what it’s really like to earn a living. [J Goad]
Actually not only do I suggest a hands-off approach to the 'long march', which like any parasite ultimately kills its host, but we should turn our energies instead into building alternative options for education and training.

Indeed I have acted on the latter in that I have home-schooled my youngest for the past 6 years and when he eventually goes to the university, as he will to follow his dream of medicine, he will be well equipped both intellectually and physically (already has two black belts in different Martial Arts) to counter the lunacy that is the university campus

Perhaps it is not too late to save our civilsation before the inevitable bloodshed that follows a loss of reason and logic.

COGNITIVE DISSONANCE WRIT LARGE

Bertrand Russell, not a man I am accustomed to referencing on many occasions as he happens to exemplify much of what I am diametrically opposed to, however to give him his due he was a very astute and intelligent man and he had this to say about the 'social justice warriors' of his day:
Much that passes as idealism is disguised hatred or disguised love of power.
Of course we are seeing this truism played out in politics, popular culture, in the movies, in fact in every area of  existence ad nauseam these days. There is no stone left upturned by these goose-stepping, young thought-crime commissars where we ordinary (deplorable) citizens might escape their harsh and accusatory gaze.

Consider as an example the love and tolerance exhibited by a Greens (political party) campaigner and peace loving, virtue signalling, young social justice warrior who occupies a vertiginous position on the hierarchical ladder of victim-hood:
I'm a white, queer, disabled, middle class Italian-Australian woman
These are her claims to being allowed to scold, to badger, to insult, to demean to do anything she damn well wants to because she is special.
The left keep telling us how tolerant they are.
Except, of course, for anyone who disagrees with them, where it would appear that nostalgia for Stalin’s terrors is alive and well in the Australian Greens.
Here is yet another example: Damiya Hayden is a campaign co-coordinator for the Australian Young Greens. This is her in a discussion on Facebook with former Menzies House Managing Editor John Humphreys:

TRANS-REASON

Given that we are no longer free to observe or look at anything these days without some revisionist, ideological twist of the current trans-idiotic zeitgeist being thrust ignominiously down our throats, I feel I cannot but agree with the precise and pithy comment by the indomitable Mark Steyn:
"Contemporary culture is imprisoned in its own cell, little and grey."

LANGUAGE WARS AND GENESIS

In contemplating the general demise of language in our day and in particular the attack on language by ‘Post-modern academics’ (oxymoron!) one thing is clear.
This is not a new development.
History repeats itself over and over and over.
Santayana said it well; “if you do not know your history then you are doomed to repeat it.”

The assault on language is something that is historically common and features predominantly in times of trouble and/or as a developmental stage towards the conquering of something or someone.

I have a small book by George Orwell entitled: “Politics and the English Language’ and it addresses these issues. Incidentally it was written before his classic dystopian novel 1984 and foreshadows the ideas he put forth in ‘fictional’ terms in the thesis of the book.

Consider for example some comfortable English Professor defending Russian totalitarianism. He cannot say outright, ‘I believe in killing off your opponents when you can get good results by doing so’. Probably he will say something like this:

While freely conceding that the Soviet regime exhibits certain features which the humanitarian may be inclined to deplore, we must, I think, agree that a certain curtailment of the right to political opposition is an unavoidable concomitant of transitional periods, and that the rigours which the Russian people have been called upon to undergo have been amply justified in the sphere of concrete achievement.

The inflated style is itself a kind of euphemism. A mass of Latin words falls upon the facts like soft snow, blurring the outlines and covering up all the details. The great enemy of clear language is insincerity. When there is a gap between one’s real and ones declared aims, one turns instinctively to long words and exhausted idioms, like a cuttlefish squirting out ink.

There is so much more that I would like to quote from this book, particularly given his marvellous control of metaphor and pictorial illustration ("like a cuttlefish squirting ink"; what a marvellously imaginative metaphor for clouding the mental water), but it is probably better to purchase it rather inexpensively via Amazon.

This little volume is also chock full of insight, wisdom and observation about how those in power or those seeking power subvert the language to achieve their own agendas. This was most probably the grounding for his coinage of the term ‘Newspeak’ which is defined by Wikipedia as:

Newspeak is a controlled language, of restricted grammar and limited vocabulary, a linguistic design meant to limit the freedom of thought—personal identity, self-expression, free will—that ideologically threatens the régime of Big Brother and the Party, who thus criminalized such concepts as thoughtcrime, contradictions of Ingsoc orthodoxy.

The subversion of the language is what is happening on a grand scale in the political and academic worlds of the West today. It is in part an attack on Western orthodoxy, a form of cultural Marxism which has morphed from the classic Marxist theory of a clash of class warfare into a clash of victims via the pathway of Gramscian ideology. It could also be the result of a metaphysical exhaustion with relativity and the rise of a will to meaning where some are wanting to believe in something, anything as long as it is not the Judaeo-Christian worldview. Hence the rise in outrageous philosophy's of  identity politics. The denigration of science and the rise of science fiction; i.e that we can choose our sex, race or even species.

At the centre of it all is the use and abuse of language and it is onto this battlefield that a mild mannered Canadian professor of psychology strolls into You Tube notoriety by declaring unashamedly that he will not bow to the cultural Marxists corruption of the English language regarding preferred pronouns for the transgendered minority on the universities campus.

I wholeheartedly applaud his bold stand. He knows that to control language is to control thought (aka thoughtcrime) and that if these demonic manipulations are allowed to be accepted into the wider community, then we have virtually taken the first step in surrendering our freedoms, freedoms won at so great a cost by the ‘greatest generation’.

Peterson has courageously exhibited the way forward and we the ordinary, everyday ‘normal's’ in society must follow suit. We cannot allow these tiny, unrepresentative minorities to dominate and oppress (in the name of freedom and peace…1984 anyone?) us or our children.
Remember most of history's murdering maniacs took control with tiny minorities....and then the axe fell.

Education is one way that we can counteract the leaven of the beast, use any means necessary. The net, Facebook, your phone, vote at every opportunity, get involved in politics local and national, if you have money contribute to conservative causes...stand up and be counted for this is what we have been called to do. The very first mandate given in Genesis was that of the cultural imperative. Do it!

BRING ON THE BARD

I consider the Huxley and Orwell novels as both the blueprint for our modern ‘culture’ and a prophetic call presenting ways to avoid the (potentially)coming disaster.
In 1984 ‘the past has been abolished’. ‘History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the party is always right’. Such dystopian engineering is at work in my own country. By the deliberate decision of pedagogues, hundreds of thousands of children now leave school without knowing a single historical fact about their own country. The historical principles that museums have traditionally used to display art have given way to historical thematic displays-portraits of women from a jumble of eras, say. (Our Culture, What’s Left of It. T Dalrymple, loc 2796)
For both Huxley and Orwell, one man symbolised resistance to the dehumanising disconnection of man from his past: Shakespeare. In both writers, he stands for the highest pinnacle of human self-understanding, without which human life loses its depth and its possibility of transcendence. In Brave New World, possessing an old volume of Shakespeare that has mysteriously survived protects a man form the enfeebling effects of a purely hedonistic life. A few lines are sufficient to make him realise the superficiality of the Brave New World:
Is there no pity sitting in the clouds,
That sees into the bottom of my grief?
O, sweet my mother, cast me not away!
And when Winston Smith wakes in 1984 from a dream about a time before the revolution, when people were still human, a single word rises to his lips, for reasons that eh does not understand: Shakespeare. (loc. 2797)
We need to teach our children Shakespeare!

DECONSTRUCTING MADNESS

The West is collapsing from within like a hot-air balloon whose burner has exploded and we are plummeting towards a harsh reality.

What might that 'burner' have been you ask?
Might I suggest that foundational worldview of the West; the Judaeo-Christian worldview!

By moving away from this foundational belief system we have not stopped believing, we have merely shifted our object of belief from a transcendent being to ourselves as the font of all wisdom, benevolence and meaning.

We now view ourselves as god, able to make every decision for ourselves. Able to differentiate good from evil based on our own opinions and desires. We no longer even bother with the concept of 'truth'...whats that (of course that is not new, even Pontius Pilate struggled with that one). We have long been able (with the help of the God given talents of surgeons) to change our exterior appearances to coincide with what is most in vogue amongst the 'important' people, and now we have even convinced ourselves that we can change our biology dependant on what we want it to be.

In short we have moved into a mode of subjective, self-delusional, mass induced madness unparalleled in human history. [Comment in brackets mine]:
The reason for this existential collapse is that the relativist west has so heavily bought into the belief that reality is merely what we decide it to be. Ours has become a culture of radical subjectivity in which there is no such thing as objective truth. Everything is instead a matter of opinion and individual perception.
Feelings trump facts every time. No-one’s lifestyle is to be considered wrong or inferior to anyone else’s. No judgment is to be permitted, except for the judgment that judgmentalism is wrong. What is right for me is what is right. What I declare something to be is what it is. I feel, therefore I am.(et tu Descartes)
The ostensible aim of all this is to end discrimination, prejudice and social exclusion. This is untrue. The aim is unilaterally to change the entire basis of society from one governed by external moral rules and duties to one in which the only rule that has any authority is the duty to actualise our own inner potential and fulfil our own desires. [M Phillips]
Such delusional thinking must have consequences...watch this space.

A read of this short article by the former Left-wing (now conservative) journalist Melanie Phillips charts well the deconstruction of humanity that our Western elites have committed our once free and prosperous society to.
It makes for sobering reflection.

LETS SLAY THE POMO DRAGON

The actual root of our general malaise goes back to the beginning of time, i.e. the Garden of Eden, but the origin of our current dilemma, a.k.a. 'Cultural Marxism' only reaches back a few decades according to the editor of the Washington Free Beacon newspaper Matthew Continetti:
The beginnings of identity politics can be traced to 1973, the year the first volume of Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s Gulag Archipelago—a book that demolished any pretense of communism’s moral authority—was published in the West. The ideological challenge of socialism was fading, its fighting spirit dwindling. This presented a challenge for the Left: how to carry on the fight against capitalism when its major ideological alternative was no longer viable?
The Left found its answer in an identity politics that grew out of anti-colonialism. Marx’s class struggle was reformulated into an ethno-racial struggle—a ceaseless competition between colonizer and colonized, victimizer and victim, oppressor and oppressed. Instead of presenting collectivism and central planning as the gateway to the realization of genuine freedom, the new multiculturalist Left turned to unmasking the supposed power relations that subordinated minorities and exploited third world nations.
The original battleground was the American university, where, as Bruce Bawer writes in The Victims’ Revolution: The Rise of Identity Politics and the Closing of the Liberal Mind,
I find myself in tentative agreement with this opinion.

Many have blamed the 60's for the radical changes that have impacted our societies in the West, however having grown up during the 60's and reached maturity(?) during the 70's I believe that the hard but fruitful ground established for two decades after the war by the veterans was indeed ploughed, prepared, cultivated and disturbed by the anarchy, rebellion and narcissism of the 60's but the actual seeds of our destruction were sown during the late 70's into the 80's.

These were the decades where I first heard and studied about the philosophical changes happening in society, and I happen to agree with Francis Schaeffer's assertion that: "culture flows downstream from the intellectuals," and that the effects of these changes then begin to make their appearance in the arts; 'fine' and otherwise.

This is the period when 'Post Modernism' began to rear its ugly head in academia and eventually in the arts until today when the effects of moral relativity and the social chaos resulting from narcissistic subjectivity has truly hit the fan and the 'victim-hood of the minorities' has become a living dragon-like thing to behold.

I say we walk in the footsteps of St George and slay these dragons...what say you?

THE ROAD TO PERDITION

This from an article by Nick Gillespie:
"More than Elvis and Little Richard, who at least freaked out the older generation, Paul Anka and Neil Sedaka were perceived as bigger threats to the USSR precisely because they represented a complete absence of revolutionary potential. In a society in which everything was about politics and ideology, the most revolutionary act was to simply ignore politics and ideology, if only for a few minutes."
Sounds familiar doesn't it?

The post-modern left in the West is politicising EVERYTHING.
You can't go to the footy and not be assaulted by political arm-twisting, you can't go to school these days and avoid ideological influences even the movies are loaded with ideological baggage. Conservative commentators are whingeing about it but no one points to the similarities with the old Soviet Union under communism.

Does this mean that we are a trip and a lurch away from becoming like the commissar ridden Soviet Union? I sure hope not but given that 40% of American youth (probably the same number of Australian youth..or more!)  would rather live under a socialist government I don't see us avoiding it.

WINSTON'S WORLD

I really do not know whether the left-wing loons in power or those who believe in the nonsense the left-wing loons dish up, really are stupid or not. I used to scoff at all the conspiracy theorists that abound in our increasingly online world, but the more the West heads towards the cliff-face the more I am becoming a believer.

We live in a world that has been prophesied about, not only by the biblical writers but by those more prescient amongst the left-wing who witnessed the degradation brought about by socialist dictators, were alarmed by the directions that the left in the West was heading and had the courage to write about it. I speak here of course about Huxley and Orwell whose prophetic utterances about the direction the world would take is almost so accurate that I am sure that the two of them would not have imagined that they could have been so exact.

I know from his extended writings that Orwell did not want the world to head in the direction it now has, that his writings were intended as a warning about how we could end up where we are headed if we followed blindly long the path of the socialist utopia. Unfortunately his warnings fell on deaf ears and his books became mere curiosities, works of 'literature' who raison detre was lost in the fog of Post-Modernism's assault on deconstructing all meaning out of texts. The end result is that we now inhabit Winston's World.

Winston Smith worked at 'Minitrue' (the Ministry of Truth in 'newspeak') and his job was to rewrite history. What do we see happening everyday on the news and in the press? People rioting about historical statues and the desire to rewrite history according to the 'rules' of today (the radicals rules of course). Think about these inventions of Orwell's and how they might apply to life today:
Orwell's invented language, Newspeak, satirises hypocrisy and evasion by the state: the Ministry of Love (Miniluv) oversees torture and brainwashing, the Ministry of Plenty (Miniplenty) oversees shortage and rationing, the Ministry of Peace (Minipax) oversees war and atrocity and the Ministry of Truth (Minitrue) oversees propaganda and historical revisionism. [Wikipedia]
What inspired me to write this short piece was reading a political rant in the Washington Times today by Eric Holder the former Attorney General of the United States wherein he stated:
“The president sets a moral tone, and I think in that regard President Trump has not done the job we expect of our leaders,” Mr. Holder said. “The election of Barack Obama did not magically transform us as a people and eradicate bigotry, eradicate neo-Nazis and white nationalists. They were still there, but they didn’t feel empowered in a way that I think they do now.”
He states that America now is not what he wants, that he "wants to go back to the America of Obama", indeed he refers to Trump as that 'Orange man'. Can you imagine what the press during Obama's kingship would have done to anyone who referred to his majesty as that 'black man'?

Obama's reign sent racial disharmony into the stratosphere. Corruption between government and  crony capitalism reached new heights and Obama's assault on the basic liberty's of everyday Americans went into overdrive, and who was the man who wielded the big stick, why Eric Holder of course. Its no wonder he wants to go back to the Obama administration. Consider Holders role in this attack on the constitutions second amendment:
The Left loathes the idea that citizens have the right to keep and bear arms and has engaged in an ugly campaign against it. In his contribution, former House member Bob Barr details the non-legislative, extra-legal means employed by the Obama administration to undermine that right.
One of them was “Operation Fast and Furious,” a gambit undertaken by the Department of Justice to sell firearms to Mexican drug cartel figures with the intention of demonstrating the supposed need for a greater crackdown on arms sales. Some of the weapons involved in this rogue plan were used in the gun battle that cost a border patrol agent his life in 2010. But when Congress investigated and sought information about Fast and Furious, Attorney General Eric Holder refused to turn over documents and was then held in contempt of Congress. That, however, had no impact at all.
Holder's tenure was so corrupt that Tom Fitton, attorney and President of Judicial Watch called Eric Holder: ‘One of the worst attorneys general in history’. Holder was called Obama's 'attack dog', his 'enforcer' and Ben Shapiro likened Holders reign to that of the Mafia kingpins. Now many of these voices could be dismissed as conservatives calling a left-wing radical names but the actual evidence of corruption and failure fly far beyond narrow political divides.

In all reality, what's posted below is the tip of the iceberg concerning Holder's lawlessness.

Holder is nobody's idea of a person of good character and I image that Martin Luther King Jnr. is spinning like a turbine in his grave at what America became under Obama's regime. Thank goodness the limitation of two terms still holds water in America, and thank goodness so many citizens of that country still have the weapons to defend their liberty, because if Obama and his minions like Holder had had the chance I have no doubt that America would have become like Zimbabwe on steroids.

Which is why reading Holders diatribe against Trump made Orwell's novel come to life for me.

ASKED AND ANSWERED

More and more of the seemingly mindless Post-Modern waffle emanating from the universities these days is being revealed as classic Marxism (although I am not sure that many of the unwitting idiots who nowadays proffer such 'wisdom' are actually aware of it). Take this post from a tenured twit as an example:
"A sociology professor at the City University of New York recently argued in an extensive series of tweets that “the white-nuclear family” perpetuates racism. Jessie Daniels, a self-described “expert on race,” began by declaring that, “What I’ve learned is that the white-nuclear family is one of the most powerful forces supporting white supremacy. I mean, if you’re a white person who says they’re engaged in dismantling white supremacy but… you’re forming a white family [and] reproducing white children that ‘you want the best for’ - how is that helping [and] not part of the problem?”
Apparently, the stable family structure is a “fact to be lamented,” and stable white families should be discouraged from existing. " [Toni Airraksinen]
Classic Marxism is antagonistic to what we term the 'nuclear family' for the following reasons:
Marxists argue that the nuclear family performs ideological functions for Capitalism – the family acts as a unit of consumption and teaches passive acceptance of hierarchy. It is also the institution through which the wealthy pass down their private property to their children, thus reproducing class inequality.
According to Engels, the monogamous nuclear family only emerged with Capitalism. Before Capitalism, traditional, tribal societies were classless and they practised a form of ‘primitive communism’ in which there was no private property. In such societies, property was collectively owned, and the family structure reflected this – there were no families as such, but tribal groups existed in a kind of ‘promiscuous horde’ in which there were no restrictions on sexual relationships. [ReviseSociology site]
I hear the unquestioning parroting of these theories all over the place these days and not least in some watered down form or another from within the very walls of the church, which is an indication of how much the world has influenced the church rather than the other way around.

In my humble opinion such transgressions are possible only because the Church has, by and large neglected the life of the mind in favour of the life of the spirit, not that the life of the Spirit is not important, it is essential, but here I speak of the emotionalism inherent in so much of the church today.

It is an age old dilemma, "what has Athens to do with Jerusalem" and whilst I understand the hesitation articulated at the time that this quote was uttered during the third Century AD it was intended as a refutation of the claims the rhetoricians, who set themselves up against the teachings of the church, were making. Interestingly the man who phrased the question was a man schooled in rhetoric and logic himself. He also said that it was the blood of the martyrs who seeded the church...a sobering thought given today's march of Marxism into our society.

We cannot arrive at KNOWING GOD through reason but once we know him reason is the tool we use to gain knowledge about Him and His ways.

Which is the more important wing of a bird....an absurd question...similarly which is more important Faith or Reason? A: neither, they both are.

Recent musings by B Muehlenberg to bolster my observations:
Oct 31, 2017
When I speak of Christians being illiterate, I have far more in mind than just the inability of some to properly read and write – in that they are simply the product of the modern Western education. But I am speaking here of a wider sort of illiteracy, one that is as regrettable as it is widespread.
I refer to historical illiteracy, theological illiteracy, biblical illiteracy, church history illiteracy, etc. Far too many Christians in the West today are woefully ignorant of that which they should not be ignorant. They know little about their own faith, their own Christian culture and history, their own doctrine, and their own Bible.
That is why the church keeps losing. A people divorced from their own heritage and their own belief system will not long stand. Indeed, they will be blown about by every wind of doctrine, by every cultural breeze, and by every latest trend, to paraphrase the Apostle Paul.

SONIC SWITCHEROO

The lame-stream-press have been rabbiting on for the last year about Trumps 'Russian collusion' and how the Russians 'influenced' the election even though not one iota of hard evidence has ever been produced to confirm these stories.
How do we know that there is no evidence?
Because can you imagine the media uproar if there had been?
It would have been spread about on every front page of every main stream publication from America to Timbuktu.

What evidence has emerged however is that there is indeed collusion between some major American players and the Russians. Collusion that involves the transfer of some 100's of millions of dollars being 'donated' from Russia to a highly suspicious American charity 'foundation' (which spends some 94% of its intake on 'administration', just 6% going to suspicious charitable causes). What changed hands?
Nothing less than 20% of Americas nuclear fissionable material Uranium, sold to their greatest Cold-War enemy. It is nothing less than treason in many respects. And who are the Americans at the very heart of these actions.....to whom am I referring?

THE CLINTON'S!
Political Cartoons by Glenn McCoy

The evidence is there, hard evidence in the form of manuscripts, telephone calls even video documentation and to top it all off  human intel, an eye-witness who is willing to testify and who is being held in protective custody (good luck to him).

And what has been the response of the media?

Can you hear the Crickets!

They have changed so swiftly from shouts of "Impeach Trump!, Impeach Trump!" to their default position of " move along, nothing to see here", so quickly that they left a sonic boom in their wake....and then - crickets.

TIME TO CULL THE FALSE SHEEP

I tend to agree with what Kurt Schlichter is saying here....in fact I tend to agree with most things Kurt says because he is one of those in-your-face, family loving, patriots who don't like bullies in any form no matter who or what they call themselves:
I don’t care what the SJWs[Social 'Justice' Warriors] say, think, or do. When they demand that I conform to their dictates, I’ve got a counter-offer.
How about I do exactly what I want and you stand there and suck it up?
See, these idiots have no power if we just laugh at them and say “No.” That’s all it takes to stop all this stupidity cold. What are they going to do? Force us to conform? Unlikely – most of them couldn’t even do a push-up, especially the ones that identify as male. No, they seek to impose a Dictatorship of the Scoldatariat, clinging to power not through bayonets but by constant braying and badgering.
It’s so simple to resist them – we just have to start giggling and saying, “Yeah, no, I’m not going to do that. Take your literally shaking self on a long walk off a short pier.”
The problem as I see it is that these f@#$-wits have captured the high ground, that is they are now in control of many (perhaps most) of the 'educational' facilities in the land and they are preparing a generation of propagandised, gender neutral, ignoramuses that follow bad cultural policies like lemmings heading off a cliff.

Although they don't possess the physical 'chops' to force their stupid ideas on you and me they are succeeding in using lawfare as a way of forcing conformity from the great unwashed; that is we 'normals'. Witness the 'Human Rights' laws being passed in the UK, in Austrlia in Canada in New Zealand etc...these are all force multipliers intended to manipulate conformity into a pre-determined cultural mould....and this mould is not conservative, it is subversive, debased, elitist, economy wrecking and slavery producing socialism in disguise. Cultural Marxism is the phrase being bandied about these days but this strategy is not new and although the 'long march through the institutions' has been attributed to Gramsci, the push for socialist ideals has been going on long before his time as in the Fabians approach; i.e. a sheep in wolfs clothing:

And what do Fabulists Fabianists believe:
The political belief that socialism can be introduced by gradual reform rather than by revolution.
And Socialism has worked so well in so many countries during the 20th Century.[sarc]..just ask any ex-pat Zimbabwean or the current crop of Venezuelans.

Their agenda has been well served over the past three to four decades which is why there has been such a reactionary rage about Brexit and Trump. The normal's have woken up and are beginning to take back their futures.

Whether it is too late only time will tell, but it sure is true that we live in interesting times.

OUR EDUCATIONAL TROY!

Having spent the majority of my adult life in and around the educational sphere and teaching in 'good' South Australian schools up until about 7 years ago I was shocked by how educational standards had deteriorated. I was also pretty bemused by the attitudes displayed by many 'educators' who have themselves been indoctrinated to see their role as that of 'social conscience warriors' who must change this corrupt and 'privileged' society rather than equipping students in the classics of education in order to become contributors to society.

It was an important reason for our choosing to home-school our youngest son. Another factor is reflected in the very first question that the majority of people ask when they discover that we home-school, i.e. "don't you worry about his socialisation?"

The answer to that one is quite simple. No! We don't worry about his social skills for the simple reason that being home-schooled has afforded him an ability to interact with people from many different strata and ages. He has a great group of friends his own age but also interact with adults quite comfortably and has learned to be self-disciplined, a self starter and how to lead. We also engage in meaningful discussions and debates during the school period because I am learning almost as much as he is.

One of the problems I identified at school and one that we have experienced with our two older children who went the whole way through the 'system' was that this so-called 'socialisation' of children moving through the grades as a single cohort actually often does (in my opinion) more harm than good. Obviously there are exceptions to every rule and some schools are much better than others at ameliorating the harm done, but it is a given that within such groups that one finds bullying of the 'different' and significant peer pressure to conform with the 'ruling paradigm' which; if the strongest personality(s) of the cohort are good ones then the class will generally achieve well, but if the ruling personality's are negative then the whole group becomes similarly infected. What teacher hasn't been amazed at how whole classes seem to have a commonality of purpose whether good or bad.

Another emerging problem I currently observe and that almost overshadows these everyday problems associated with mass education is how the Cultural Marxists (usually identified as the 'hard-Left') have emerged from their heretofore concealed attacks on the West, and having infiltrated the educational faculties (amongst other primary institutions) for many years as part of their long-term strategy a.k.a. "the long march through the institutions', are beginning to articulate their aims quite openly.
For years, the Edina Public Schools have been one of the brightest stars of Minnesota public education… But today, test scores are sinking. One in five Edina High School students can’t read at grade level and one in three can’t do grade-level math. These test results dropped EHS’s ranking among Minnesota high schools from 5th to 29th in reading proficiency, and from 10th to 40th in math proficiency between 2014 and 2017… There’s been a profound shift in district leaders’ educational philosophy. In place of academic excellence for all, the district’s primary mission is now to ensure that students think correctly on social and political issues — most importantly, on race and “white privilege.” […] The school is pervaded by an obsession with race. Katie Mahoney, Highlands Elementary School’s “racially conscious” principal, was hired in 2016. This fall, she announced that the school’s “challenges” for 2017-18 are to teach children “how to embrace ancestry, genetic code and melanin,” and to how “to be change-makers.”(Katherine Kersten)
and.......................
Two Canadian professors have developed an approach they call “Trojan horse pedagogy” to peddle social justice to otherwise unassuming students. Sal Renshaw and Renee Valiquette, both of whom teach at Nipissing University in Ontario, detailed their extensive “ruse” in a recently published book, boasting that their “Introduction to Interdisciplinary Analysis” class is actually a “social justice” course in disguise… “Our goal in this class is to move both hearts and minds, in part by ‘forcing’ an encounter with at least some knowledges that students have already decided they are not interested in,” Renshaw and Valiquette explain, adding that the classes are “rooted in… post-structural feminist theory.” ( Toni Airaksinen )
We are witnessing it in Australia under the banner of the 'Safe Schools Project' an Orwellian maxim if ever there was one.

AFFECTATIONS

HELPSLEE

A dingo crows in the afternoon
Monkey jumps barbed wire, the ear-gate swallows the sun.
Right side regurgitates lovely in exactitudes.
High pitched nonsense comforts the red red yellow crescent.
Raging free patterns of courage waiting for….
Presence gathers in the crispy corner of correctness.
The scattered seed feels connected, I feel glad.

Looking back strips shadows of dimension and Orpheus is dusted.
From shallows pour fifth destiny.
Head hums whispering words upon which fate falls and captains crumble.
See rock me a little while not alone in the sea of sadness.
Warm winter satisfies the drum beat of a sickle
Melancholy makes me glad.

Click clack, strum strom, plick pluck; the hurricane howls
And clam is a dram who masters calm.
Landscape glowers at the suffering heart on the line.
Dawn lies lays boys yobs spent beers and tears.

I’m so glad.

DANTE'S INFERNO: SECOND CIRCLE...

In my younger life BC,  I remember thinking that Hugh Hefner lived the ideal lifestyle; the life all red-blooded males aspired to. It was a few years later that I came to understand that this was a profoundly erroneous perspective on life and one that has done endless damage to many many people around the world.

His life was, if one reads between the lines, one of profound contempt for women and fraught with both substance and emotional abuse. In fact what appeared to be Utopian on the outside was nothing but nihilism at its source:
He tearfully noted in a 1992 New York Times interview: 'I’ve spent so much of my life looking for love in all the wrong places.'[Daily Mail, 29th September 2017]
http://nypost.com/2015/06/21/holly-madison-reveals-hell-with-hef-in-playboy-mansion/
Though the mass media now provide hagiographies verging on secular sainthood for Hefner and his influence on culture, the fruits of this influence which are everywhere visible and becoming increasingly oppressive illustrate that his philosophy was like all other idealistic philosophies; destructive:
Utopianism, writes the philosopher Roger Scruton, is ‘not in the business of perfecting the world’ but only of demolishing it: ‘The ideal is constructed in order to destroy the actual.’ Who needs families, or marriage, or morality? Who needs nations, especially nations with borders? We’ll take a jackhammer to the foundations of functioning society and proclaim paradise in the ruins.
Hefner added to the chaos of the world and was at the sharp end of the cultural struggle that we are now engaged in:

He spent his life rebelling against what he considered the restrictions of his 'roots' but in doing so displayed the typical narcissist's blindness on actually knowing what it was he was rebelling against. He might as well have tied the millstone around his own neck.
He is now in the presence of One who whilst the epitome of love is also to be greatly feared:
Luke 12:2 There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.
3 What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.
4 “I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more.
5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.
I do not envy him, and yet I do not judge him for I too am a dreadful sinner with the only difference being that I have accepted the One who was sent on my behalf to stand in the gap. I can only hope that for his sake he too made a deathbed acceptance like the sinner on the cross besides Jesus.

Russell Moore has the last line on Hugh Hefner who is the reflection of our culture today and especially pertinent given the debate we are currently engaged in:
The “bunny” logo was well-chosen because, in the end, Mr. Hefner saw both men and women as essentially rabbits. This path was portrayed vividly by John Updike in his Rabbit Angstrom series. It is not a happy life.
And yet we are not actually rabbits. We can see our deaths coming, and we outlive those deaths to give an account of our lives. If you want to see “success,” look instead to the man faithful to the wife of his youth, caring for her through dementia.
In the short-run Hefner’s philosophy has won, on both the Right and the Left. The Playboy Mansion is every house now. Many church leaders implicitly or explicitly say, “This is fine.” In many cases, those who hold to what the church has always taught on sexual morality and the value of women are the dissidents now, regardless of how “conservative” a movement proclaims itself to be. Thou hast conquered, O grotto.
The long-run, though, is quite different. Jesus will reign.

THE AUSSIE 'CARRIE'

Because the left dominates the news media, the entertainment media and academia, ordinary Western civilians are swimming -- actually, drowning -- in an ocean of lies.

As an example I was watching (I can only stomach it for short periods) a clip of channel 10s 'the project' and marvelled at how adept these cultural Marxists (conscious or unconscious) are at the 'ole bait n switch' routine.

The segment was about how expensive electricity in Australia has become and would you believe it, but they chose to ignore completely the actual reason for the prices and proceeded to lay the blame at the feet of the 'greedy capitalists' who are exploiting the system. Talk about attacking the messenger!

It is exactly what happened with the Global Financial crisis in America...government interference in the marketplace that transforms 'free' enterprise into crony capitalism.

Sure we all know that there are greedy swines in business who care about nothing more than making a dollar, just as there are greedy swines in public broadcasting who make more dollars than those in the private arena and generally for less work I might add. In fact the more we back off from absolute morality the more such narcissistic greed and bad behaviour will emerge, but more on that obvious development at another time.

The point of this electricity debate is that the government are interfering in the marketplace by subsidising renewable's at such a rate as to make the cheaper coal and gas options unprofitable and that drives away investors.

The 'projects' Wally Taqiya and his stable-mate the truly sinister Carrie Bickmore (ever seen what happens to her eyes and face when presented with an argument against her pet ideologies? Whew! its enough to melt your marsh-mellows), Carrieposter.jpg......anyway there they were professing to analyse the exorbitant prices of electricity (South Australia with abundant mineral resources, has the most expensive electricity on the planet) in Australia and blaming the greedy Electricity Suppliers for the problem.

Yes, the CEO of AGL is one crony capitalist who sees an opportunity to make dollars for himself and his shareholders(to which his bonus is tied) by abusing the marketplace. Take morality out of the marketplace and how can you blame him? Its rank hypocrisy to blame somebody for doing what you have a part in allowing in the first place isn't it.

But attacking the obvious capitalists amongst us...the banks, the Energy companies, the mining companies etc; sets up an Us vs. Them scenario, a classic play straight from Alinsky's 12 Rules For Radicals playbook. It also deflects the real source of the problem from its socialist, anarchist roots...as I said in the beginig classic bait & switch.

THE COURAGE OF HOLLOW MEN

Musing on the word 'courage'. We hear endless chants of how courageous Hollywood 'artists' are to stand up to Trump, or to the 'fascist hordes' who populate the Tea Party (who incidentally clean up after themselves) unlike the so called pollution minded eco-warriors who leave behind major dumps of  pollution at their 'love-in/sit-in/occupy events:
This is a sterling example of the progressive thought process. Leonardo DiCaprio preaches about the cataclysmic dangers of climate change, then flies a private jet. Thousands of activists traveled to Standing Rock to protest about an oil pipeline they claimed would contaminate the Missouri River, then left a garbage wasteland behind, which, if not cleaned up in time, will contaminate Cannonball River and Lake Oahe.
Aside from the minute band of activists who are helping with the cleanup, where is everyone else? It doesn't matter. They proudly displayed their virtue, and so little details like cleaning up their own filth in the aftermath are irrelevant.
Above all else, progressives value being seen as virtuous. Whatever cause they promote or defend always comes second to everyone seeing them promote or defend said cause.
http://www.dailywire.com/news/13219/lol-standing-rock-protesters-leave-behind-enough-frank-camp#
We hear endless caterwauling about how these courageous souls are speaking truth to power and how they seek to tear down the privilege of the patriarchy or  the bullying of the 'fascist right'......all very noble but in truth when we see anything at all it is usually the left attacking and bullying the 'normals' in society.

We only ever see Hollywood attacking one religion in its diatribes against religion as the cause of all evil in the world. Who do they target? Christianity of course, never ever would we see Hollywood
attacking the real crimes of Islam. Why? Well one doesn't have to venture far beyond the artists of Charlie Hebdo to answer that one, or perhaps early movie makers like Theo Van Gogh & Hirsi Ali where one is dead and the other lives in permanent hiding, or perhaps as a writer we should criticise Islam as Salmon Rushdie did.

What do Christians do when you make movies that mock their faith?
They pray for you......wow, now that is really terrible and what courage it takes to make movies that condemn such a foul worldview or make mockery of the founder of that faith by immersing the instrument of His torture in human waste.....such artistry, such passion, such courage to speak truth to power.....! Granted there are some these days who think hate is part of the Christian vocabulary and who appear to do it on the various media platforms, but these are expressions outside of the remittance of scripture and if followed up are often either fake news or the work of crazies.

Well the same could be said of those who shout Allahu Akbar before they detonate! Sure, but how many deaths are you aware of that have been caused by those calling themselves Christian and have subsequently been discovered to be faithful followers of Christ?

Whereas all of the followers of Islam can have their claims justified by the Koran, the author of their faith both admires and acknowledges that he was a killer and conqueror....you only have to do a modicum of research to see that this is the case.

And this is the real reason why the courageous minions of Hollywood are more than happy to mock Christianity whilst not only ignoring but promoting Islam. The irony of it all is that once the Western civilisation has collapsed and sharia law is felt and exercised more widely in the Western countries wherein it now resides and grows stealthily and surreptitiously with the help of the 4th estate, these self same luvvies are going to feel the heat whether they try to avoid it or not.

PILGRIMAGE TO THE NINTH CIRCLE

Too true Dinesh.....unfortunately a large part of post modern society no longer believe this to be true and even more are thinking negatively about America and the other Judeo-Christian nations because of the endless propaganda fed to them since kindergarten:
Since the American founding, the American formula of democratic self-government – of making the people control the rulers instead of the other way around – has become a virtually unquestioned norm for the world. Even governments that violate democracy pretend to rule on behalf of the people. Moreover, America’s focus on the entrepreneur has produced the most inventive and entrepreneurial society in history, which has benefited not just business owners but workers and ordinary people. Already by 1815, historian Daniel Walker Howe points out, Americans were better fed and in better health than their English counterparts. Between 1830 and 1950, America had the fastest growing economy in the world. By the mid-twentieth century, the American economy was so productive that a nation with around 5 percent of the world’s population accounted for one-fourth of the global economy. In America I am not surprised by how good the people at the top have it; I am amazed to see what a good life America has provided for its common man. Even people of little education and ordinary ability – I would go so far as to say even the unimpressive and the lazy – have nice homes and nice cars and take annual vacations. I do not believe that all this will be true in the future, but it has been true for the past half-century. (D D’Souza, America, p.54)
Reflect on how this view of the economy is being systematically undermined by the America's left wing potentates. How Obama directly attacked the foundations of economic growth with his "you didn't build that" quote:
The president's remarks reflected the belief, common among Democrats, that successful citizens owed their success partly to public infrastructure and government spending, and that they should contribute to finance public goods...(Wikipeadia)
In other words individuals did not build their own businesses, the State did it for them. Pure Marxist thinking!

Francis Schaeffer once said the very freedoms achieved by the Judeo-Christian worldview are the same tools that will be used to destroy it once people reject the foundation on which such a worldview was built. In a world without moral righteousness the freedoms of Western 'capitalism' become brigandage at the highest levels. We witness it nightly on the evening news...politicians ripping off the taxpayer left, right and centre.  South Australia is a contemporary, living example of such mad, tax-payer underwritten ideology at its most blatant;the climate change cult.

In a State blessed with abundant natural mineral riches which potentially enables us to generate almost limitless and inexpensive power we find instead a State labouring (pun intended) under the most expensive power prices in the WORLD. This fact plus the general fiscal and societal mismanagement on a colossal scale has reduced our State to that of the mendicant of Australia. These Marxist inspired policies have had devastating results on our economy, causing massive unemployment, skyrocketing utility bills, and fostering a climate(pun) antagonistic to any hope for future growth.

Of course Mugabe once said when questioned on if he regretted his Marxist policies and how they had devastated the economy of Zimbabwe, reducing many to poverty and starvation; that starving people who rely on the government to eat and feed their families make compliant citizens.

Many PoMo millennials also have been duped into believing that all the advances made by the West were built on the back of slavery, invasion, corruption and are the source of all the worlds evils. Any objectively minded individual researching the facts would be able to discount the lies behind this propaganda and see that in fact the reverse is the truth, but unfortunately many do not have the time or the energy or the logical wherewith-all to see through the lies and fabrication of a re-written history.

This is all part of the 'long march' through the institutions softening us up for the great 'reversal' where the 'new rulers', the 'neo-fuedalists' are going to rule by fiat and by lawfare and anyone who does not think/act/believe as they do are doomed to either legal penalties/re-education/exile or death, depending on the benevolence or malevolence of the one with power at moment. We are on the fast track to another form of dictatorship if history is any judge of the future.

If you think that I am being melodramatic in saying this; well I hope that is true.....but I fear that my children's future is not looking rosy and that the Trump phenomena is not the end of the slide into oblivion but a mere hiatus on the road to ruin along which the Western Left are leading us all down.

A FRANTIC CALL FOR COMMON SENSE

I have been pondering on and discussing with friends about the changes that are happening to my world, 'our' world, the immediate world that we inhabit and the causes of these changes.

Two non-fiction books that I am currently reading (teaching from the one) 1) Dinesh D'Souza's book America; Imagine a World Without It  and 2) The Genesis of Science by James Hannam have been both enlightening and inspiring.

History has a way of illuminating the present and foretelling the future in ways that those who seek to rewrite history are well aware of and is a primary reason why they want to eradicate it. Consider the activists in America, Australia and the UK who even now are trying to rewrite our histories, all in the name of 'tolerance' and 'acceptance of the other' of course. Nonsense! They have learned from the radicals that history is a great indicator of future and present actions and they want as much ignorance and misinformation to reign as possible because the uninformed are so much easier to hoodwink.

The climate change hoax is a case in point where the catch-cry of "the science is settled" is such an anti-science claim but to the un-initiated sounds acceptable, even correct. The Transsexual revolution and 'gender fluidity' is another anti-science crusade being undertaken in the 'name of science' and because the 4th estate is so complicit in the PoMo cultural revolution, they either are unaware of the irony or are comfortable with hiding the truth from we, the 'deplorables'.

What struch me in Dinesh D'Souza's book was the passage of how the American 'dream' has been shifted from its original intent to something out of the playbook of cultural Marxism in a fairly short period of time. It has also been interesting to reacquaint myself with the fact that the distaste that the elites in society have towards 'capitalism' is not new, and has in fact been the default position towards business and entrepreneurship throughout history:
If one unique principle of the American founding was the idea that all men are created equal and endowed with unalienable rights, a second unique principle is the creation of a free market society with business as the national vocation and the innovator and entrepreneur as the embodiment of the American dream. Marx understood this. Writing in the mid-nineteenth century, he termed the United States"the most modern example of bourgeois society". Yet America's commercial emphasis may seem unfamiliar to many today, because progressives have been attempting to redirect the energy of the American people - especially young people - away form the commercial sector toward the government sector. When I first came to the States in the late 1970's, the tone had been set by John F Kennedy. Kennedy said to Americans: If you are young, if you are idealistic, then do what? Join the Peace Corps! Become a public servant. For JFK, there were nobler things to do with your life than to work for a profit making corporation. If you did that, you were a greedy, selfish guy. But if you became a bureaucrat, or went on a Peace Corp mission and lived in a hut in Africa, you were a morally wonderful person. We hear the same thing from Obama, who routinely tells people in his graduation speeches: don't go for the brass ring, the corner office, the big promotion. Presumably he want Americans to become community organisers or union bosses or go to work for the federal government. In the progressive lexicon, "business" is a term of derision and becoming a political activist or a federal bureaucrat is what the American dream is all about. [pp. 50,51]
What is particularly ironic about all this is how Kennedy's father was one of Americas early 'robber Barons' and that in Australia today for the first time in history, the government sector are more highly enumerated than the private sector, an fiscal imbalance that cannot continue indefinitely for the simple reason that the money the government sector uses to pay its wages are generated via taxes paid by the private sector.

Governments do not generate money, they just spend it, and when they step into the business of running businesses they do it so badly that the economy collapses which is the lesson that should have been learned from history by the endless attempts at Socialism.

D'Souza goes on to explain the historical disdain towards business(free enterprise/capitalism) that seems to be a hallmark of our current administration in Australia (even though an alleged 'businessman' is at the helm; though bankers these days are more ideologues than they are entrepreneurs) as least and certainly within the main stream media worldwide:
The Founders(American constitutional) knew that , historically, in most cultures, business and trade were reviled. For nearly two millennia, across the world, the merchant and entrepreneur have been regarded as low-life sum. Confucius says, "The virtuous man knows what is noble. The low man knows what is profitable". In Japan, the social hierarchy placed the Imperial family and the lords at the top, the warriors or samurai below them, then the farmers and the artisans, and finally the merchants lowest of all. In the Indian caste system, the top rung is occupied by the priest, the next rung by the nobility, the next by the warriors, and down the list we go, until one step form the bottom, just above the hated untouchable, we find the merchant and trader. Historian Ibn Khaldun, one of the great Islamic thinkers of the middle ages, has an essay arguing that looting is a morally preferable way to trade to acquire wealth. Why? Because trade is based on exploitation of needs of others and is therefore base and shameful. Looting by contrast, is courageous and manly, since you have to defeat a rival in open combat and take his stuff. Even today in Europe, its better to have inherited money than earned money. Inherited money is seen as innocent, like manna dropped from heaven, while earned money is seen as the result of some sort of exploitation. The American Founders were well aware of this social hierarchy and they inverted it. In a sense they turned the whole totem pole upside down, so that in their new regime, the bottom-runged entrepreneur would come to the top. [pp. 51,52]
And of course this reversal of the 'historical order' helped to create the freest, most dynamic and successful culture that the world has ever seen. Progressives have been worked for a number of decades now to subvert the system back to the way it has always been. Today you seldom see a movie where the businessman is a hero, au contriare they are almost always the villain. Sure there are and have always been crooked con-men but many business leaders of the past have been exemplars of philanthropy and generosity.

I am on a roll and before I exhaust my readers any more I will leave the thought of 'where are we headed?' with you. Are we going to return to the feudalism of the historical past with a few elites ruling over what we think, feel, say or do, or are we going to return to the freedoms given by the American Constitution? I vote for the latter.
