LIES DAMNED LIES

It is not 'political activism' to study in order to understand the context in which we live. Political, cultural, educational etc...ALL of life informs our understanding of scriptures, and as Kuyper well said: 

“There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry, Mine!” 

We study the 1st Century to understand the thinking and development of the early church, why then do we balk at studying our contemporary context? We have been lied to by the father of lies: 2 Corinthians 4:4
