Why?
Because it is the objective rendering of ideas and concepts into communication. If you have no word for something it doesn’t exist for you. In North Korea there is no word for freedom, therefore the populace do not think about it.
This is why we are witnessing the war on vocabulary.
The left have a particularly evil genius at redefining words and subverting meaning. We are all experiencing the pressure to call that which is not, something. We are being told that it is ‘humane’, ‘kind’, ‘respectful’ to destroy the accepted meaning of pronouns, so we do it to keep the peace. We are expected to not only accept, or ‘tolerate’(a word that has morphed into ‘hate speech’ by the way) but promote and encourage transgenderism and the idea that a man can become a woman or visa versa.
Just as we were seduced into accepting that destroying the historical(over millennia) model of marriage, was the kind, respectful and humane thing to do and that it was merely a small change with little to no further ramifications. In fact those who called it a ‘slippery slope’ were vilified, condemned and in many cases were shunned or lost their jobs for being so ‘hateful’. It has become blatantly clear to those with eyes to see that that squandered battle has started a snowball effect that is gathering momentum at a frightening pace.
We are living in a world where the attack on ‘normality’ is brobdinagian.

Consider ‘Queer theory’. What is it? It originally began as a slur but has been adopted by the left and been transmogrified into a technical/academic term. It means an identity without an essence, an identity which increases its significance in opposition to what ‘queer academics’ and theorists define as ‘normality’(David Halperin).
It is in effect a 'war' on what has too date, been considered normal.
