Art as prophecy
This short excerpt from a poem by Steve Turner written some years ago has an uncannily prophetic edge to it when you think of recent newspaper headlines.
"If chance be the father of all flesh, disaster is his
rainbow in the sky.
And when you hear “state of emergency, sniper kills ten”, “troops
on rampage”, “youths are looting”, “bomb blasts school”, it is but the sound of
man worshipping his maker."
